Welcome 2009 and New Irrigation Regulations in Texas

Well 2009 is here and so are the new irrigation regulations courtesy of TCEQ. They should help bring some professionalism to the irrigation industry in Texas....finally! Well at least to DFW area...since that is where I do most of my business. Hopefully it will drive all the "fly-by-nighters" out of business.

It is kind of a double edge sword for me and my business. I have always prided myself on quality installations. So the regulations won't affect what I do much...just a few more items to do on an installation...no biggie. But now that systems will actual have to be installed correctly.....I may not get as much repair work from all those systems installed by, shall I say, the "here today gone tomorrow" contractors.

The new regulations will also promote water conservation...that will be a good thing. Since most irrigation systems are run way too long per zone. I will post some scheduling ideas later.
